Page 2 of 2 Week Photo Timeline of FormalinTreated CLA Abscessphotos credit Goat-Link.com goatlady Some of the photos are blurry, tried to get too close I guess but this gives you an idea of what to expect when you treat CLA with formalin.
2 days after injecting with 2ccs formalin (This was a fairly large abscess - inject only enough to fill abscess but not burst it) ![]() 3 Days after injecting formalin re injected 1 1/2 cs into areas of abscess that didn't seem to be responding by turning harder and dark ![]() close up- 1 week after injecting formalin into CLA Abscess ![]() 1 week after injecting formalin ![]() 9 days after injecting formalin into CLA abscess lump is getting visably harder and darker. ![]() Another view of the abscess showing how it is now sticking out further than before, and getting darker and harder as the formalin "kills" the CLA bacteria 19 days after injecting formalin the ridge around the abscess is beginning to form - the center getting darker and harder ![]() One month and 5 days after initial formalin injection into CLA Abscess Now appears to be a knob sitting on the skin but is still very much attached. 6 weeks after injecting CLA abscess with formalin, now is beginning to have a callous appearance on edges of abscess Another view of CLA abscess 6 weeks after treatment you can see the shadow of how much is actually sticks out from the skin this is approximately the diameter of a half dollar. This is about ready to drop off the body. ![]() About 8 weeks after the formalin treatment, The CLA Abscess fully contained and the bacteria killed and hardened by the formalin dropped off and leaves a raw spot on the skin which later scabbed over slightly, and completely has gone, no scarring, hair grows over the spot without any indication there was an abscess- and no more abscesses have formed on this goat. This treatment lasted from July 19, 2010 when the injection was administered until Sept 7, 2010 when the no longer infected abscess fell off the body. photos credit Goat-Link.com goatlady |
